What is a Santos Doll? These dolls have a long and deep religious history which dates back centuries when they were first used as part of in-home alters in small rural villages where there was no access to priests.
Santos dolls take their name from the Spanish word for Saint. They are also known as Santons (French) and Santibelli (Italian). Typically the antique dolls are difficult to find and can be quite costly.
The reproductions shown here are done quite well and are very reasonably priced. They are made of resin and 14 1/2" H. Each includes a removable crown.
This particular listing is for the Yellow bust which has jointed arms and hands - unlike the other blue and green busts without arms. Find those in a different listing.
